Magna Interior Trim Components (MITC) St. Clair, a rapidly growing division of Magna International, has an immediate opening for an experienced Cost Accountant looking for a career with a dynamic team and Company. MITC St. Clair is located at 4662 Puttygut Road; China Township, MI 48054 and was acquired by Magna in May of 2011. The transformation and growth since the acquisition has been nothing short of remarkable. MITC is responsible for 2 Magna divisions, this location in St. Clair and also in Benzonia, Michigan. This position will actually focus on the Cost Accounting for the Benzonia location, but, will work out of the finance office at MITC St. Clair with the rest of the MITC finance team.
##### Job Introduction
This cost accountant position may require travel once a month (or up to 25%) to the Benzonia plant which is located in beautiful Northern Michigan, just about 1/2 hour from Traverse City.
##### Major Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include, but, are not limited to:
Assist Engineering in reviewing and maintaining standard costs - Bills of Material (BOM's), process and routing changes.
Investigate and correct zero cost and negative margin parts.
Review daily production reporting and measure against standards.
Analysis of direct labor to production efficiency.
Analysis of scrap.
Analyze inventory costs and variances (material usage variances).
Responsible for all Sales related reporting including CM and scrap - monthly, quarterly, tax, special projects, etc
Assist with weekly financial estimates (flash), quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
Prepare and book journal entries as necessary.
Other special projects as assigned.
##### Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years automotive manufacturing cost accounting experience using an MRP system is required.
PLEX MRP system experience is a plus, but, is not required.
BBA in finance or accounting is required.
##### Skills and Competencies
Must be highly motivated, analytical, open to change, intuitive, and pay close attention to the detail.
